The dream of 5G home internet has been the hope it would bring competition to home internet. For years you would be lucky to get two maybe three internet providers and typically your only options have been DSL or cable internet. Now with 5G home internet rolling out across the United States, we are starting to see a 3rd or 4th option for home internet. So far though 5G internet has been limited to one provider per market but today that all changed.

Today AT&T announced that they will take Verizon’s 5G network head-on by launching their 5G home internet service in Indianapolis by the end of 2018. This comes just weeks after Verizon also announced they would launch a 5G network in Indianapolis. This means for the first time homeowners will be able to pick between DSL, cable, and two 5G options for their home internet service.

It was a natural choice for AT&T to name Indy as one of the twelve introductory 5G cities.”
