Second NC net neutrality bill introduced

A group of state lawmakers are pushing forward another measure to make net neutrality protections state law – this one specifically targeting the procurement procedures of state agencies.
A group of Democrats in the House filed the bill, which comes a day after a pair of state senators introduced a similar bill. Like the Senate bill, it surrounds net neutrality. But this measure prohibits state agencies from entering into contracts with non-neutral broadband providers.
“Money from the taxpayers of North Carolina should not go to line the pockets of those who would restrict our taxpayers’ internet access,” says primary sponsor Rep. Grier Martin (D-Wake).
