US Raises Huawei 5G Network Security Concerns With Gulf Allies

The US government has raised its concerns with Gulf allies over a possible security risk in using Huawei equipment for their 5G networks, Reuters reported, citing US officials. Robert Strayer, the State Department’s deputy assistant secretary for cyber, international communications and information policy, said they have raised concerns about the importance of securing 5G technology and applying risk-based security principles.
